More cooking.....

This time I made these quick and easy pizza rolls as one of our snacks for family movie night.

Pizza Rolls:

1 pkg. canned biscuits
1 small jar/can spaghetti sauce
cheese cubes
pepperoni (or other pizza topping favorites)

Preheat oven to 350F.

Flatten each biscuit dough piece. (I just did this with my hands as I was preparing each roll.)

Place a spoonful of sauce, cube of cheese, and a slice of pepperoni (or your chosen toppings) in the center of each flattened biscuit dough piece. Fold the dough around the toppings and seal.

Place on cookie sheet about an inch or so apart.

Bake for 12 - 15 minutes, or until golden brown.

They are good just like this. This is the second time I've made these and this time when they came out of the oven, I rubbed butter on the top and sprinkled them with a little garlic salt. I think it would also be good with parmesan cheese sprinkled on top. I'm going to try that the next time around.

On a side note:  I usually take my pictures when my kids aren't around. In a house with four teenagers there's always someone around to 'help' me if they're here (or awake).  When I was trying to take these pictures one of my daughters, Abigail, kept photo bombing them.

She's using a zoo pals plate.

Yes. I only have teenage children and I'm still having to buy zoo pals. LOL

Quick get away

Dax and I were able to get away for a couple of days last weekend.

Thanks to my wonderful parents and their willingness to come stay with our kids, we were able to spend the weekend in San Antonio. It was nice and relaxing. We didn't make any plans other than hanging out and relaxing.

It was wonderful and so very needed.

On our way home, we stopped at Lulu's Cafe to have lunch and bought a cinnamon roll to take home to the kids.

One cinnamon roll for four kids seems a little cheap doesn't it?

Not this one, though!!

These cinnamon rolls weigh 3 pounds each!

THREE POUNDS, people!!

Oh, and if you click on the name above, it will take you to their website where you can order one of your own.

Not even close

I tried to be all cute with the kids this morning and make ground hog pancakes.

Remarkable likeness, huh? LOL

I think it's very important to let other crafters know about the things we try that don't come out anywhere close to what we intended.

Ha!

See how I did that? How I turned this epic fail into some kind of noble act. Bahahaha!!

Hope you got as good a laugh from that ground hog pancake as the kids and I did. :0)

Pancake Balls

I've done it again. I've managed to go ages without posting. Shame on me!!!  In my (slight) defense, though, Dax and I were out of town for 9 or 10 days. Does that count? lol

Anyway, I have lots of things in the works, but nothing finished quite yet......and honestly, I'm running out of time to get some of them finished. (read: Christmas gift giving panic is setting in!!!)

But, aside from that, there was this going on.

For their birthday, the kids got gift cards to Target. While Dax & I were gone, my parents took them to spend their gift cards. Addison got one of these:

It's a cake ball maker. She's made lots of brownie balls and they're great.

Here's a little secret.....if you don't cook them quite as long as the instructions say and leave them a little gooey in the middle, they're like molten lava cakes! Heaven!!

Anyway, the other morning I decided to make banana pancakes because I had bananas that needed to be used but didn't have time for banana muffins. I had seen these banana bread pancakes and decided to give them a try.

And, just to make it completely different, I cooked them in Addison's cake ball maker.

I put a few in a bowl and drizzled syrup over them.

The kids thought they were great, and a little fun since they were in a different shape.
